Finished 2Degrees Data Pinata 2025-2026

Ahh, I finally finished the 2Degrees Data Pinata thingy! First time I ever finished something like this, I didn’t really even realise that some were location and time dependent until I saw someone’s post on Reddit.

I was pretty passively collecting them at home/while on a walk (supposed daily exercise…) but when I realised I didn’t have many left, I decided to take it somewhat seriously.

Location and time dependent

I’m not sure which ones were location and time dependent…like Astro Orb (one of the headwear) that says “Call me Neil Headstrong because nothing’s getting into that noggin”. That one took me forever, and I thought maybe evening when the stars are out? Maybe on a night with a full moon? Maybe late at night? But then I got it randomly on a walk at around 8 pm ish, so I don’t know lol.

I think they also said there were certain ones that you needed to either be late at night or early in the morning. I’m not sure what they were but I got them somehow.

I defintely got that these ones were location dependent

  • Data Keeper: Any 2degrees outlet, I went to Sylvia Park’s one on Boxing Day (we just went window shopping at IKEA for fun, it was packed!)
  • Baller Wear: I went to right up to Eden-Roskill Park Cricket Nets and Ppitches for this one, I suspect the cricket players were wondering what I was doing so close to the net lol
  • Swim Suit: This was definitely a beach…but I went to many beaches for this one. I tried Taylors Bay and Onehunga Reclaimed Beach which are both within walkable distance, but neither worked. I also tried a swimming pool but maybe I was too far. I ended up driving to Point Chevalier Beach for this one. It still didn’t work until I walked right up to the location mark in Google Maps and tried again, and then it finally worked. I suspect you need the umbrella icon that symbolises “beach” in Google Maps. Anyway, I heard peopel saying that whacking it at the beach would get you a good prize, but nah, I only got 1 hour.
  • Bargain Battlewear: Yeah, definitely the Warehouse, I went to the one in Mt Roskill.

Not sure?

  • Black Knight Armour: Well it says ANZ…and the Mt Roskill Warehouse is like right next to it so maybe I got it then? But I’m pretty sure I collected it before then? I have no idea.
  • There was one where there was a bush, it was a headwear but once you complete it, you basically can’t see the hint anymore. I went to Waikowhai Park for this (didn’t really go in, it worked for some reason near the entrance). I vaguely tried this coastline walkway for this one, but that obviously wasn’t it.

Conclusion

Personally, the shortest free data time was 45 minutes (like 5 times) and the longest time I ever got was 2 hours (once). Most of the time it was either 1 hour or 90 min. Whelp, enough data either way to tide me over while on a walk. And yes, I’m glued to my phone while I’m walking! It’s just the same scenery every day anyway =_= and I’m too addicted to reading stories hehe.
