This is a story where MC is a traumatised doctor with a medical system transmigrates into a backward ancient world with a medical system. ML is a poisoned prince banished away to the boonies due to the classic imperial suspicions. Anyway, classic setting. MC with the medical system and having a medical background makes the story a bit different from your usual infrastructure stories, but the process is approximately the same.
MC, ML and their relationship
ML is originally pretty suspicious of MC’s abilities and knowledge but gradually accepts them and recognises that MC has an unusual origin. Which is totally normal and great for this kind of story….but I feel like after ML became the emperor, he really restricts MC? It’s revealed that he basically tries to block MC’s abilities a bit to make sure he stays in this ancient world and yada yada, but I feel like the exections was just…frustrating. Perhaps the author could’ve used a different setting?
Anyway, I felt like there was a lot of unnecessary misunderstandings and angst due to poor communication (?). Anyway, I personally feel it’s unnecessary and I thought that phase was so over (it’s just so…2010s). Communicate! Lies and poorly placed assumptions do happen but throwing fits after they’ve been uncovered is just not it.
The medical system
MC kinda knew that being a doctor couldn’t complete the task of the medical system and save many many people from the start. This kinda made the medical system useless (and the medical system couldn’t detect ML’s poison). However, the medical system does remain a good sidekick to MC whenever it isn’t sleeping, and provides a good boost to MC at certain points. MC also likes to exploit the various “bugs” in the medical system. Anyway, this system wasn’t really important to the story but it was also pretty likeable.
The infrastructure
The infrastructure was well-paced in the first half, and kinda just loosely mentioned after the ML became the emperor. Very irritating.
Conclusion
The initial pacing of the story is a strong one, but I feel like the pacing fell off a cliff about halfway, so I feel pretty mixed about this story overall. The plot okay but the later parts kinda ruined it, the relationship is cute but frustrating at times and uh, well, I have nothing else to say.
