This is a feel-good QT where MC and ML run way back. For a typical QT, it’s got a fairly strong cultivation-plotline running through the story and so quite a few of the mini-worlds have a cultivation-like twist to them.
I’m not sure if this is a reread for me. Only the first story seems super familiar to me, the others have bits that seem kinda familiar and kinda not.
MC, ML and their relationship
MC is a villain with a fairly complicated past. He is a villain in a game, suffering and dying over and over again (for reasons explained later in the story). He is sent to the mini-worlds to change his fate. In general, he’s super overpowered and learns everything super quickly.
ML is a person who MC picked up in the past, helped and then ML died trying to save MC. He doesn’t have any memory of the past in the mini-worlds (common), and appears to be suffering in pretty much every world.
MC kinda slowly recognises ML, but it does take him a while in each world at points. Their relationship is pretty trusting otherwise.
The mini-worlds, the cultivation stuff
Well, if ya know me, I’m not into cultivation much. Some of the worlds have a bit of cultivation-derivative stuff in them, which links to the cause/effect of the transmigration pretty well. I have to say though, I really liked a modern world where MC and ML kinda unpack their past history. It meshed pretty well into the story without being a massive info dump (my opinion).
I also liked how there were like a couple of extra worlds after MC & ML recovered their memories to show how they’d work together in the future.
Conclusion
This is a fairly classic old-school QT that I can just turn off my brain and enjoy. I don’t really have any complaints about it. Both MC and ML are overpowered, none of the worlds are considered super innovative nowadays (it was written a while ago after all) and the story doesn’t need much substance anyway. Pretty much every world ended well and the main couple interactions are cute.
