This was a 2026 re-read for me, I’ve been feeling like an infrastructure mood. At some point I realised I’ve read this one before, so it’s pretty skimmed over. I didn’t really finish it so I don’t have the deepest impression considering my last read was approx 2022 (?)
ML, MC and their relationship
ML is pretty skeptical of MC because MC’s past self (before he transmigrated) was involved in quite a few scandals. MC has to don a costume and pseudonym as the “Mountain God” to kind of help ML (though also to get back at that other prince who caused those scandals). So ML is very convinced by MC’s pseudonym but quite petty towards MC’s real self. The romance was sloooow, but I kind of skipped to the end so I don’t really remember how it turned out.
The infrastructure and MC’s golden finger
You really gotta turn off your brain for this one. Some of the infrastructure plans are quite..well, you really gotta employ your suspension of disbelief? MC’s golden finger is pretty incredible, directly porting super futuristic tech over to ancient times. I could see some point in MC’s plans and classes and stuff like that but uh, I’m not convinced that’s also the right way for society to progress. Well I guess society progressed so it’s a win.
Conclusion
The writing style wasn’t really my thing, but it was sort of a satisfying read if you fully turned off your brain. I think reading this story in the past might have been more convincing but nowadays the story might feel a little fake. Anyway, on to the next!
